Cold heading is a manufacturing process used to produce fasteners like screws, bolts, and rivets. In cold heading, metal materials (usually steel or other alloys) are shaped into the desired form at room temperature or slightly above it using molds and pressure machinery️.

Here’s a quick overview of the process:

Feeding: Metal materials, often in wire form, are fed into a cold heading machine.

Forming: The machine uses molds and punches to apply pressure and shape the metal into the required form. This is done at room temperature, hence the name "cold heading."

Finishing: The shaped parts may undergo additional processing, such as cutting or grinding, to achieve the final dimensions and surface quality.

Advantages of cold heading include:

High Efficiency: It quickly produces large quantities of parts in one go.

Lower Costs: It saves on energy and equipment costs since no high temperatures are needed.

Excellent Mechanical Properties: The metal’s grain structure remains intact, enhancing the strength and durability of the parts.

Cold heading is widely used in fastener production because it effectively creates high-strength, precise components.
